The problem with Illustrator is that you DO NOT GET UPDATES. As a graphic designer I think this is very useful (InDesign and Quark are limited on this), and I love the pen tool. Illustrator have great tools and I love that you can place photoshop files, modify the photoshop file and will update when you go back to Illustrator file. However, I can give you my honest opinion of Adobe Illustrator. I cannot tell you anything about CorelDraw, because I do not use it. I have a little experience with illustrator and I use it for my work.
